2004
Foundation
MMV Hungarian Private Railway Ltd was founded on 1st December 2003. It received the railway company operation permit of number 4/2004 for the activity of goods transport and traction on July 8, 2004. MMV was one of the firsts on the liberalized market started its competition with the road competitors, state plant and MÁV Cargo Ltd on 1st May 2004.
2010
Internationalization
MMV Zrt opened its office in Záhony in the year 2010 with the intention of being present in the East Region, and in order to be able to serve our partners with freight arriving from the East as efficiently as possible. From this moment on we’ve extended our corporation and opened subsidiaries in nearby countries, including Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and Turkey.
2015
Romania
PSP Cargo Group Romania was established in 2015 in Cluj-Napoca, the heart of Transylvania. In 2016 we already operated with 380 trains; 483.000 tn; 54 employees and boasted an income worth 6.500.000 Euros.
2019
Power and Versatility
In 2019 we were operating with an active fleet of 4 modern, electric LE 5100 hp Softronic locomotives, 5 classic electric LE 5100 hp Electroputere Craiova engines, 10 modernized diesel-electric engines LDE 2100 hop, 3 electric Siemens-Vectron locomotives (interoperable in Romania, Hungary, Austria and Germany).
2020
Training Center
In 2020, we established our own locomotive driver training center. With the help of experienced experts, we provide excellent training that includes both theoretical and practical lessons. Upon successful completion of the training, we offer opportunities for job placement.
2021
First Smarton Locomotive
At the end of 2020, we were the first in Romania to introduce the Smarton locomotive, which has been reliably transporting our customers’ goods ever since. This new-generation locomotive offers unique technological advancements that enhance efficiency and ensure seamless transportation processes. With a focus on customer satisfaction, our Smarton locomotive contributes to providing optimal delivery solutions and top-quality services.
2023
PSP Cargo Group Hungary
In 2023, we successfully expanded our company to Hungary as well. This step has allowed us to significantly reduce cross-border traffic and facilitate communication between the two countries. With this expansion, we have further strengthened our presence in the railway transportation sector, enabling our customers to swiftly and efficiently move their goods between Romania and Hungary.
