Team Building in Voineasa: 3 Amazing Days of Teamwork at PSP Cargo Group
Rail freight depends on locomotives, wagons and infrastructure, but it also depends on the people who coordinate every shipment from the first request to the final delivery.
To strengthen this foundation, 19 colleagues from the PSP Cargo Group Romania team gathered in Voineasa, Vâlcea County, for a team building event at Zan Hotel from 24 to 26 September 2026. The program combined professional training sessions, team games and a hike to one of the region’s most beautiful waterfalls.
The event reflects a simple idea: a well-connected team is one of the most important operational assets of any logistics company.
Why Teamwork Matters in Rail Logistics
A single rail transport involves many roles working in sync: commercial teams who plan with customers, dispatchers and operations staff who manage trains, technical colleagues who keep the fleet ready, and administrative teams who handle documents and costs.
Information has to move correctly between these roles, and between shifts. When communication is clear and trust is strong, problems are identified earlier and solved faster.
That is why investing in teamwork is not separate from operational performance. It is part of it.
A Training Program in the Mountains

The event took place at Zan Hotel in Voineasa, Vâlcea County. The sessions were organized by M&Co Training, a specialized training company, and led by three trainers. The program was built around team games and group exercises.
Over three days, the program combined energizing exercises, team challenges and guided discussions that connected each experience to everyday work. It included:
- Egg Rescue Mission: teams designed and built a protection system for an egg dropped from a height, using limited materials and time, then tested their creations.
- Belbin Team Roles: an individual test and guided discussion about how different roles complement each other and shape decisions and collaboration.
- Prisoner’s Dilemma: a game on trust and decision-making under uncertainty, showing how individual choices affect collective results.
- Team Pulse: a coordination challenge in which the team had to control the movement of a ball on a surface held by ropes.
- Final Challenge, Team in Motion: a series of short, cooperative mini-challenges, open to everyone regardless of role or hierarchy.

These activities gave colleagues the opportunity to work together outside their daily routine, to see how each role contributes to the final result, and to practice skills that matter every day in rail operations:
- clear and open communication
- cooperation across roles and departments
- shared problem solving
- trust and mutual support
One activity in particular brought the team closer together:
The Rope Loop Challenge. This team challenge required everyone to listen, give clear instructions and adjust together until the group found the solution. It is a good reminder that clear communication and patience solve problems faster than working alone.
Overall, all the activities showed that good teamwork is built on the same habits that keep trains running: clear communication, trust and a shared goal.
Communication as an Operational Tool
In rail freight, a delay, a change of plan or a missing document can affect many people at once. Teams that know each other well communicate faster, ask for help earlier and understand one another more easily under pressure.
Time spent together in a relaxed setting helps build exactly this familiarity. Colleagues who usually talk by phone or e-mail got to know each other better, exchange ideas and build relationships that will make everyday cooperation easier.
A Hike to Scoruș Waterfall

Beyond the training sessions, the team also went on a hike to Scoruș Waterfall in Malaia, a beautiful and memorable experience for everyone.
The trail itself was part of the program. Short challenges built into the hike, such as pair exercises, coordination tasks and a “Spider Web” crossing where participants had to support one another, turned the walk into a team exercise. At the waterfall, the group closed the experience with a short moment of reflection, connecting what happened on the trail with how the team works together every day. Team photos taken there will keep the memory of the moment alive.
Shared effort in nature creates a different kind of conversation. Walking the same trail, helping each other along the way and ending with a memorable group photo.
Investing in People and Company Culture
PSP Cargo Group continues to invest in professional training, leadership development and organizational growth. Team building is part of the same approach: motivated, well-connected employees are more engaged, more prepared to manage complex operations and more likely to build long careers in the company.
After a decade of rail logistics built on trust, resilience and teamwork, these values remain central to how the company works.
Technology and modern locomotives are important, but it is the team that keeps every train moving. Time spent together helps us communicate better and trust each other more. – said Paul Silasi, Administrative Coordinator.
Looking Ahead
The rail freight industry continues to evolve, with new technologies, modern fleets and growing environmental expectations. Yet every innovation depends on people who can work well together.

For PSP Cargo Group, the future will be built by combining modern equipment and digital tools with strong teams, open communication and a culture of trust.
